Lodmoor country Park is a 15 minute walk from the Wilton Guest house, take the Esplanade route to the beautiful Grennhill gardens and cross the road to the Lodmoor Country Park. It contains the much renowned Weymouth Sea Life Centre, Rio Grande Railway, 9 hole pitch and putt, The RSPB nature reserve and picnic areas.
Brewers Quay, 1 Mile from the Wilton
Brewers Quay is situated in the historic Hope Square with commanding views of the old harbour . Brewers Quay is now an amazing gift emporiam with over 20 specialised shops all set under one roof amongst the alleys and cobbled streets of the old brewery.

One Dawn in the bitter February of 1834 six Tolpuddle farm labourers were arrested and escorted to Dorchester.
Their Crime?
Atempting to escape from the grinding poverty and harsh employers.
The Charge?
Swaering an oath of unity, after being betrayed by a friend.
The punishment?
Seven years of hell as convicts transported to Australia.
The Outcome?
Free pardons and mass celebrations, the trial was a travesty of justice and the Martyrs dreadful experiences fanned the embers of trades unionism into flames that still burn today.

Nothe Fort is built at the head of the Nothe Penisula which forms one side of Weymouth Harbour and overlooks Portland Harbour to the south. The penisula is a clay on rock outcrop, Nothe Forte is higher than most of Weymouth presenting commanding views of the Dorset coast from St Aldhems Head to the town of Weymouth, the Isle and harbour of Portland and Chesil Beach. The views from Nothe Fort are breathtaking and its well worth packing a picnic and whiling away a few hours on the in the Fort grounds.
Between the Fort and the Town are the Nothe Gardens, which was once part of the military establishment but now a popular landscaped park. other than some steps leading up to the grounds, its very family friendly
